LINE Fukuoka collaborates with Nishi-Nippon Railroad in an effort to improve railway convenience

LINE Fukuoka Corporation (Head Office: Hakata, Fukuoka, Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Mr. Noritaka Ochiai) and Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. (“Nishi-Nippon Railroad”; Location: Hakata Ward, Fukuoka; Representative Director, President, and Executive Officer: Sumio Kuratomi) are pleased to announce the introduction of a new feature for making payments with LINE Pay on the “[Official] Nishitetsu Train” (【公式】西鉄電車) LINE official account (LINE ID: @nishitetsu_train). A service that allows for payment of “Value ticket” packs (e.g. train and tourist experience ticket package deals) in a LINE chat has also been launched.

This initiative is the first of its kind that allows for tickets to be paid for through LINE Pay on a railway’s LINE official account.¹ Now you can do everything on the Nishitetsu Train LINE official account, including searching, paying for, and getting discounts on tickets to select locations.
¹As of August 17, 2020

■ Nishi-Nippon Railroad x LINE: Offering unprecedented travel convenience
• Purchase “Value Tickets” on LINE Anytime, Anywhere

In Nishitetsu’s LINE official account, you can check information about “Value tickets” (discounted ticket packages that offer a train ticket and sightseeing experience). Previously unavailable for purchase online, “Value tickets” can now be purchased in the LINE chat with LINE Pay, so you can buy tickets anytime, anywhere.
Note:

  • The “Dazaifu and Yanagawa Sightseeing” and “Dazaifu Stroll” ticket packs are eligible for online payment through LINE Pay.
  • A ticket must be issued at the ticket counter after purchase.

• LINE chatbot support for trips in select locations

A chatbot will give you the terms of use for value tickets and information about locations with discounted services in the LINE chat.²
²These services are available as of November 2019.

There are select locations in popular tourist areas (such as the area around Dazaifu Station) as well as some that are a little off the beaten path. The list of select locations displayed by the chatbot is connected to Google Maps, a website where you can find out where to change to a Nishitetsu Bus, and Nishitetsu Taxi’s call center, so you can travel smoothly.

The account is available in five languages (e.g. simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean), and after demand for inbound tourism returns to previous levels, it is expected to be used as a tour guide for people visiting Japan from overseas.

From Tuesday, September 1, masks³ will also be provided for those who purchase discount tickets from the LINE official account when they pick up their tickets in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases through travel.
³Supplies limited (300 masks)
