A First for Japan! LINE MINI App Introduced to Railroad Business Purchase a “Tenjin/Hakata One Day Pass” for the Subway and Get Sightseeing Information all on LINE

Making MaaS for tourism a reality by assisting transportation in Fukuoka City for tourists.

LINE Corporation (“LINE”; Location: Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Takeshi Idezawa) and its Fukuoka-based subsidiary, LINE Fukuoka Corporation (“LINE Fukuoka”; Location: Hakata Ward, Fukuoka; Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Noritaka Ochiai) are pleased to announce that verification testing for a new service to buy subway tickets on LINE and learn more about sightseeing spots is beginning as a part of the “Fukuoka City Full Support Verification Test Project.”¹

Fukuoka City plans to open a new route between Tenjin South Station and Hakata Station via the city-operated Nanakuma Subway Line, and is also planning to test the demand for sightseeing in areas between Hakata and Tenjin, so the city has announced the new “Tenjin/Hakata One Day Pass.”²

This testing will utilize a LINE MINI App³ for the purchase and use of the pass, and will also send people local discount and restaurant information when they arrive at the destination station, all on LINE.

Through this initiative, LINE Fukuoka hopes to achieve the realization of a smarter form of MaaS in tourism that does not require travelers to download multiple apps.

■Purchasing tickets is a snap with LINE MINI Apps
LINE MINI Apps are web apps on LINE that offer services to help people meet the various needs of their lifestyles.

Using a LINE MINI App lets visitors take advantage of the service and get mobile tickets without having to download a new app or register personal information like their email address. It also eliminates the need to handle cash or go to a service counter and be in contact with others, which acts to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
