LINE Fukuoka Corporation (“LINE Fukuoka”; Location: Hakata Ward, Fukuoka; Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer: Yusuke Suzuki) and the SUNQ Pass Management Committee (Location: Hakata Ward, Fukuoka; Committee Chairperson: Yutaka Miyazaki) are pleased to announce a joint project for travelers to “Get a SUNQ Pass on LINE” through the new SUNQ Pass LINE official account operated by the pass management committee. The account will let travelers easily get information related to the SUNQ Pass¹ and display their pass.
¹The SUNQ Pass is a special ticket that gives unlimited access to most highway and city buses and a portion of ferries in Kyushu as well as Yamaguchi Prefecture’s Shimonoseki City
In this joint project with the SUNQ Pass Management Committee which targets all areas of Kyushu, we are releasing a LINE Official Account to realize the vision of “a convenient SUNQ Pass experience on LINE.” Additionally, moving forward the SUNQ Pass will be digitized further in the future through a LINE MINI App, and we are striving to achieve the promotion of Digital Transformation (DX) for other businesses affiliated with the SUNQ Pass Management Committee. In this initiative, we are promoting further “Transportation DX in Kyushu” through the use of LINE.
By taking advantage of the SUNQ Pass LINE official account, travelers can easily get related information and display their Web SUNQ Pass, which lets them enjoy a stress-free trip.
■ Features of the SUNQ Pass LINE official account
1.Improved convenience for getting information about the SUNQ Pass
Previously, people who wanted to learn how to use the SUNQ Pass, or learn about discounts and model courses had to search through physical or digital pamphlets (PDF) or go to the SUNQ Pass homepage, which required time.
By installing a menu in the account with buttons such as “Information” (ご利用案内), “Discounts and Services” (特典・サービス), and “Model Courses” (モデルコース) (please see the image below), travelers will be able to get the information they need quickly, and we anticipate that improved convenience for the SUNQ Pass will lead to promotion of its use.
2.Simplified Web SUNQ Pass²display
Up to now, displaying a SUNQ Pass to the driver when getting on and off the bus has been an issue, and there have been cases of passengers not being able to get on and off smoothly.
By adding a button to display the SUNQ Pass to the Rich Menu in the new SUNQ Pass LINE official account, passengers can display their pass immediately without having to search, which ensures a smooth experience.

■ Project background
The vision of LINE Corporation is to realize “Life on LINE,” and its mission is to “deliver all users a new infrastructure experience that merges online and offline.” Because the transportation field offers offline-based services that cannot be completed fully online, LINE Fukuoka views them as an ideal opportunity for creating “a new infrastructure experience that merges online with offline.” To realize this vision, the company has worked together on joint projects³ with companies such as Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd., the Fukuoka City Subway, and mobby ride, Inc. in a variety of initiatives including the provision of congestion information on trains and buses, a LINE MINI App for digital tickets, and verification testing for e-scooters.

The SUNQ Pass Management Committee is comprised of 47 transportation companies across each Prefecture of Kyushu and in Shimonoseki, including Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. Not only does SUNQ Pass cover a wide area of Kyushu, and has a broad impact, but its member companies run many of the major transport operators in the Kyushu area. We have been exploring the possibilities of collaboration, as we believe that the benefits of mid- to long-term collaboration, such as DX support for member companies, are significant.
The management committee made the decision to open the SUNQ Pass LINE official account as part of going digital with the pass, and because “DX in transportation” is one field that LINE Fukuoka will focus on moving forward, the two organizations have come together in this joint project.
Through the opening of this LINE official account, the SUNQ Pass Management Committee will now be able to encourage use of the pass to those who add the account as a friend. Additionally, because displayed discounts can be analyzed, the account creates an environment that enables improvements to the SUNQ Pass and carrying out of initiatives to increase its user base.
LINE Fukuoka will continue to utilize the LINE platform and its cutting-edge technologies to solve social issues residents and private businesses face in order to make Kyushu a richer, more convenient, and future-oriented “Smart” region.
